I have to admit, I started reading the article with a grin. But you have some _very_ thoughtful point.

Great article. And terrific image choice with the baseball players.

@MarkB - funny enough when we were building TwitterPeek before hand we hit the same issue. We were sure it was us again! We built some very convulated stuff to manage it. Turns out I think that is one of the big reasons basic auth is no more.

@amessryoom - we use the java project equivalent of that project (it is almost a straight port).

It definitely delays "receiving" from GoogleVoice on the Peek, but we'll launch sending from our GoogleVoice soon enough (again).

Wow! I wonder if something like the python modules that use an api to access googlevoice would provide cleaner access. But it seems the web app security needs to be improved either way.

Guess, this will delay googlevoice support from the peek :-(

It is interesting you mention Roo. I have been looking at it and so far seems to make things simple. I am yet to use it in a scenario where i integrate it midway into existing codebase, but am planning to try that out.

good competition to rails, django is the feeling i get.

@steven, that is awesome! It is really true, most applications now-a-days can be much smarter about encryption & anonymity... ala wikileaks. They just aren't forced to...

Is the link to the BBC web page that discusses WikiLeaks' encrypted file, and Whitfield Diffie's comments on encryption and networking.

"4. The data can be encrypted end to end, only people in my network should be able to decode my updates. When I “add a friend” this could include some sort of behind the scenes private/public key swap. Why should anything I do or write be available to anybody other than user’s of my social network data?"

Commenting on WikiLeaks encrypted "insurance policy" file, Whitfield Diffie is quoted as saying that in the future, social networks will be defined by people who share their encryption keys. You may be on to something.
